What's Changed
Page rewritten to describe how you can actually exercise your rights: in-app tools, email and response times.
- •The GDPR gives you specific rights over your personal data.
- •You can exercise them at any time, free of charge, in the app or by email (addresses at the bottom of this page).
- •We reply within one month; only for complex requests can this be extended by two further months, and we would tell you within the first month.
- •To protect your account we answer email requests only when they come from the registered address.
- •IkigaiApp is a personal project: requests are handled directly by the data controller.
This includes:
- •What data we process about you and why
- •Which providers we share it with
- •How long we keep it
- •A copy of your data (export from your Profile)
This includes:
- •Edit name, nickname and language in your Profile
- •Update results and demographics by retaking the survey
- •Change of email on request by email
- •Correction of any other inaccurate data on request
This includes:
- •Delete your account from your Profile at any time
- •Immediate deletion of all data linked to the account
- •Only security logs remain until they expire (12 months at most) and encrypted backups until replaced (6 months at most)
- •If you sign in only with email links, you confirm deletion with a link we send you
This includes:
- •When you contest the accuracy of your data
- •When processing is unlawful but you prefer restriction to erasure
- •When we no longer need the data but you need it for legal claims
- •When you object to processing pending verification of legitimate grounds
This includes:
- •Data you gave us and data generated by using the service
- •JSON or CSV format
- •Immediate download from your Profile
- •You can upload the file to another service, if it accepts it
This includes:
- •Advanced Insights examples: switch them off in Settings → Privacy
- •Other processing based on legitimate interest (security, statistics): on request by email
- •We do no direct marketing
- •We make no automated decisions with legal effects on you
In the app
Use the built-in tools, available when you are signed in
- •Download your data (Profile → Export)
- •Edit your data (Profile)
- •Manage privacy settings (Settings → Privacy)
- •Delete your account (Profile)

Supervisory authority
If you believe the processing of your data breaches the GDPR you can lodge a complaint

- •You can also contact the authority of the EU country where you live or work
- •If you like, write to us first: it is often solved faster

You can download a copy of your personal data at any time. It includes:
- •Account data and settings
- •Surveys, results and Ikigai Profiles
- •Journal, to-dos, Daily Anchors and flashcards (decrypted)
- •Messages, feedback and community posts
- •Preferences and history of privacy settings
- •It does not include usage statistics, which contain no identifiers
Available Formats:
The export is immediate: the file downloads from your Profile.
You can delete your account at any time from your Profile. We delete:
- •Account and profile
- •Surveys, results and the copy used for Advanced Insights
- •Journal, to-dos, Daily Anchors and flashcards
- •Messages, feedback and community posts
- •Preferences, settings and AI usage logs
- •References to your account in technical data and the event log
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please ensure you have exported any data you wish to keep before proceeding.
Deletion is immediate.
